About the Cottage

Built in the 1850s by convict William Fogarty. Scarecrow Cottage is a rustic stone colonial home situated in the seaside village of Swansea Tasmania, and is only a short 5 minute stroll away from the local shops, restaurants and Great Oyster Bay. Swansea is a stunning location from which to set out on the Great Eastern Drive, explore Freycinet National Park or just enjoy the laid back coastal vibe of this beautiful part of the world. Relax in winter by the fire with a hot chocolate or enjoy a cool summer drink outside under a star filled southern sky.
